This weekend I got back on the official 15-meter speed climbing wall. I am very excited to be climbing again after being off the wall for six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I climbed for three sessions over three days on the Momentum Katy speed wall. I had to wear a mask for safety measures, but it did not affect my performance. My forearms were sore the next day after not climbing for over half a year!

While my times were not stellar, I was happy with my training sessions given that I’d been off the wall for so long. My long hours of strength training in my garage gym during the time away from the wall really helped. I am changing my beta this season and the strength work made the changes significantly easier to execute. Looking forward to being on the wall regularly going forward and decreasing my times.
