Happy Global Climbing Day! It’s been a wild year since I last made this post. What a difference a year can make. I am very thankful for all of the progress that has been made over the last year in a number of areas.
When I wrote a post about Global Climbing Day 2020 last year, I had not been on a wall for five months and COVID was raging around the world. There was a tremendous amount of uncertainty.
A lot has changed in the last 12 months:
- COVID has settled down a little bit
- I have gotten fully vaccinated along with a large portion of the population
- My school and most other schools have gone back to in-person school from virtual
- I’m able to climb at regular intervals now
- I am a National Champion Speed Climber
- The Olympics were held and an American, Nathaniel Coleman, won a silver medal in Sport Climbing
While I still wear a mask at the climbing gym and in school, I hope that when I write my post about Global Climbing Day in 2022, my mask will be off and life will be back to normal.
